About Us

Mission Statement

At Coach Pete’s School of Basketball, our mission is to positively impact young athletes through basketball by developing their skills, character, and confidence. Through year-round training, competition, and community involvement, we focus on development, exposure, and opportunity, preparing players for success both on and off the court.

Meet the Founder & Head Trainer

Coach Pete, born in North Bergen, New Jersey, and of Cuban descent, is the Head Coach and founder of Coach Pete’s School of Basketball. With more than twenty years of coaching experience, he has dedicated his career to developing athletes and helping young players reach their full potential both on and off the court.

As a player, Coach Pete competed for several high school basketball programs, including Monsignor Pace High School, where he led his team in assists during their 1994 State Championship season. Following high school, he attended Tallahassee Community College, where he was redshirted before ultimately deciding to pursue his passion for coaching rather than continuing a playing career.

Today, Coach Pete is actively involved in coaching and mentoring athletes throughout Miami-Dade County while also supporting and collaborating with fellow coaches across the community. Through Coach Pete’s School of Basketball, he offers Personal Training, Group Training, and Team Training programs designed to help players improve their skills, basketball IQ, and overall development.

In addition to training programs, Coach Pete oversees Team Pete Blue Rays, a competitive basketball organization featuring selected Local and Travel Teams that provide athletes with opportunities for development, exposure, and high-level competition.
